Naturomimetic Direct Veneer (NDV) Restoration of a Discolored Anterior Tooth
Dr Sushil Koirala, Nepal
A 19 year old female patient presented with discolored upper anterior tooth #11. The patient gave history of trauma and the tooth was endodontically treated and fractured portion was restored with direct resin restoration 5 years ago. Clinical examination revealed discolored tooth and restoration. The patient was explained about possible options of treatment :
a. Internal tooth whitening followed by Naturomimetic Direct Veneer (NDV), b. Naturomimetic Direct Veneer ( NDV) without tooth whitening, c. Lithium disilicate indirect veneer. After thorough discussion about each treatment options patient requested for Naturomimetic Direct Veneer (NDV) without tooth whitening. The main clinical challenge in this case was to mask the discolored tooth and match the color and translucency of restored tooth with adjacent one. Naturomimetic ONE layers protocol was used to obtain natural life-like restoration.
